Privacy Policy

How Bristol Insight handles personal data: no third-party analytics, no advertising cookies, newsletter-only storage, UK GDPR and PECR compliant policy in full.

This Privacy Policy explains how Bristol Insight handles personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Bristol Insight is an editorial website. For the purposes of UK GDPR, the data controller is the editor of Bristol Insight, reachable via the contact page.

What we collect

This website is a static publication. By default it collects no personal data about visitors. We do not run third-party analytics, we do not set advertising cookies, and we do not share visitor information with advertising networks.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect the email address you provide so we can send you our monthly dispatch. That is the only personal data we hold for newsletter subscribers.

If you email the editor via the contact page, we retain your email and message for as long as is necessary to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence.

Lawful basis

We process newsletter emails on the basis of consent (you subscribed). We process editorial correspondence on the basis of legitimate interest (replying to you and keeping a record of our reply).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Unsubscribe links in every newsletter email are the simplest way to withdraw newsletter consent. For any other request, please email [email protected].

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
